What are the advantages of the PATINS distance learning course?

The distance learning course “Patent and Innovation Protection Officer/Manager” (PATINS) covers a maximum of two semesters. With the exception of a classroom event, it is structured in the form of self-studies guided by a webinar. The study course imparts relevant knowledge about patent and innovation protection in the fields of management, technology and law. However, it is suitable for all specialist areas and does not require any previous legal or business knowledge.

How is the course structured and what content is taught?

In general, the PATINS distance learning course comprises two semesters. After a successful completion of the first semester, the participants can call themselves “Patent and Innovation Protection Officer”, after a successful completion of the second semester even “Patent and Innovation Protection Manager”. In the first semester the following contents will be taught:

  • Knowledge of the protection of technical inventions in patent and utility model law
  • Knowledge of data protection and other legal IT issues
  • Knowledge in the field of copyright law for the protection of creative works
  • Knowledge of trademark and competition law for the protection of companies and their products
  • Knowledge in the field of entrepreneurial innovation and patent management

The second semester of the Distance Learning Course on Patent and Innovation Protection Officer/Manager, on the other hand, deals primarily with the practical application of the theoretical knowledge acquired in the first semester.
