In June 2019, Demi graduated as a Public Administrator from Radboud University in Nijmegen. During her studies, she researched the functioning and structuring of organizations within and around public administration. She specialized in ‘Public Management,’ investigating how public organizations can effectively address societal problems and execute public tasks. Specifically, her thesis involved six months of research into the role of government in the collective self-reliance of residents. She completed an internship at the municipality of Deventer, where she also performed evaluative tasks. Through discussions with the alderman, attending council meetings, and incorporating the project into the Spring Memorandum 2020, she gained a deep understanding of the practice of political-administrative relationships in local government.

Broad knowledge of government, internal organizational issues, and societal policy themes

During her bachelor’s in Business Administration, Demi studied organizational and change management, business economics, and various legal subjects. After her bachelor’s, Demi deliberately moved away from the business world and chose to pursue a master’s in Public Administration. This choice provided her with extensive knowledge of how government operates and is structured, as well as the ability to offer solutions for both internal organizational issues and societal policy problems. She finds policy issues particularly interesting, with areas such as the Human Capital Agenda development fund, sheltered housing, and social support being of particular relevance.

Demi is now employed at Ignite Group as a Consultant, focusing primarily on educational institutions, public-private partnerships, and municipalities. For these organizations, she conducts screenings, writes subsidy applications for provincial, national, and European schemes, performs reviews for clients, and assists with program management. Demi is characterized by her drive to achieve, her sense of connection, competence, and loyalty, qualities that are evident in her work.
